Bagatti Valsecchi Museum: the Cinquecento in the heart of the “fashion quadrangle”
A stone's throw from Via Montenapoleone, in the center of the Fashion District Milan, between Via del Gesù and Via Santo Spirito , is located the Museo Bagatti Valsecchi, where you can breathe the refined taste of the Lombard nobility and admire elegant painted panels, valuable collections of furniture, ivories, jewelry, pottery, weapons, glass and fabrics.
From the collections of art to furniture and to architectural finishes, everything in the house Bagatti Valsecchi recalls the sixteenth century, in a harmonious marriage between original pieces and parts stylistically restored.
Visiting the Bagatti Valsecchi Museum is an experience that takes us back in time. After the ticket office, a large scale with a beautiful iron railing leads to the first floor where the two brothers Fausto and Giuseppe shared the prestige rooms.
From then there is a series of rooms full of precious objects like Bevilacqua room with the Madonna and Child, by Ambrogio Bevilacqua, a Milanese painter of the end of the fifteenth century; the gallery of the dome along which, on the tables, are located some of the most important ceramic pieces of the collection, among which a large vase signed by Ippolito Rombaldoni dated 1678; or the Red Room, which is the master bedroom of Giuseppe Bagatti Valsecchi and his wife Carolina Borromeo, where visitors can see painting of Santa Giustina by Giovanni Bellini.
